This course, held in Stockholm, will give you a clear insight of all the different stages of hat making, where you will gain knowledge about which tools to use and how. Along with traditional hat-making you will also learn about various hat styles and shapes, and how to take care of your hat for it to last for a lifetime.
WHAT YOU GET
To make the most out of your experience of creating your own hat we recommend you come prepared and bring some inspirational pictures to describe your hat. This way we can get a better idea of what you want to achieve and assist you to make your vision come to life.

In this weekend hat course, you will design your own hat over 2 days in our hat studio in Stockholm. Choose between fur felt or straw.
The course is split into two days. On day 1 you get an introduction to hats and the anatomy of the hat, as well as a closer look at hat-making techniques. When you've chosen the material and color you will steam and block your hat to the right size on a wooden block, where the drying process will be going on overnight. On day 2, we remove your hat from the block, sew in a leather sweatband, give your preferred shape to the crown and brim, and finally, we add details and finish your hat to perfection.
Schedule: – DAY 1: 9 AM - 12 PM (3 hours) – DAY 2: 9 AM - 12 PM (3 hours)
Collectively: Metro (red line) towards Fruängen to Midsommarkransen. Take the exit to the right and then walk approx. 200m.

Förutom att man får med sig en hatt man kan skryta med att man gjort själv. Så får man i kursen också lära sig väldigt mycket, den är kreativ, tydlig och pedagogisk. Men det som får kursen att sticka ut är Sandra och Jonathan, förutom sin kunskap de glatt delar med sig av så har de skapat en gemytlig och familjär miljö. Det bjuds på anekdoter och skratt lika mycket som man påminns om att allt är möjligt att skapa.

Two days together with the course leaders Jonathan and Sandra plus another 5 wonderful coursemates made this weekend something to remember. I have always wanted to learn how to design and make hats and the course has really given me a good and start to be able to continue on my own in my future hat studio :-)
The course takes you through the whole process step by step and there was no problem keeping up with the pace and they were both always close by to answer our questions!
